Sorley & Still’s family law practice is dedicated to serving individuals who are planning for marriage or cohabitation or are undergoing the breakdown of a domestic relationship.

With over 85 years of combined legal experience, Sorley & Still’s lawyers are uniquely equipped to provide sensitive, cost-effective, clear and understandable representation to clients on the broadest range of family law issues including the negotiation of domestic contracts (pre-nuptial agreements, marriage contracts, cohabitation agreements, parenting agreement, family arbitration agreements and separation agreements), the division of family property, spousal and child support claims, custody and access disputes, paternity issues, unjust enrichment claims, and representing children's interests.

Sorley & Still offers a one hour initial consultation at one-half the lawyer’s hourly rate as well as services, on a fixed fee basis, for uncontested divorce and adoption applications and simple cohabitation and marriage agreements. Sorley & Still can also offer flexible payment options.

Sorley & Still recognizes that each of our clients faces a unique set of challenges as they navigate through difficult personal challenges.

Building on this awareness, Sorley & Still does not take a “cookie cutter” approach to the practice of family law. While Sorley & Still is committed to helping our clients protect their interests through the use of creative, and, wherever possible, non-adversarial, solutions, we do not shy away from the litigation process, where it is required.

To this end, Sorley & Still will help our clients assess their needs and objectives, advise them of their substantive rights and obligations and assist them in evaluating which of the dispute resolution techniques summarized in the chart below) is best suited to their needs.

Committing ourselves to cost-effectively meeting our client’s goals and needs while embracing the highest professional standards, we leverage our experience by adopting a team approach, where appropriate, combining the benefit of senior lawyer’s experience with the savings associated with junior lawyer’s involvement.
